Operator Expectations
Daily Responsibilities
Pre-Operation Inspection:
Perform a full walk-around inspection each morning before startup and document findings.
Fluids Check:
Verify engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, fuel, and DEF (if applicable) levels daily.
Greasing:
Grease all required points each day before or after use to prevent premature wear.
Cleanliness:
Keep cab, windows, and mirrors clean. Remove trash at the end of each shift.
Equipment Care
Warm-Up / Cool-Down:
Allow proper warm-up before heavy operation and cool-down before shutdown to protect components.
Safe Refueling:
Refuel safely, avoid spills, and prevent contamination.
Regeneration Compliance (Diesel Machines):
Allow regeneration cycles to complete. Do not bypass, cancel, or override regen unless directed by a mechanic or supervisor.
Damage Reporting:
Submit a Repair Request immediately if damage, leaks, or abnormal performance is found.
Abuse Prevention:
Do not overload, slam, jerk, or use the equipment outside its intended purpose.
Safety Standards
Seatbelt Use:
Seatbelts are mandatory while operating.
Spotters:
Use a spotter in tight/confined areas or when working near personnel.
Load Awareness:
Never exceed load limits. Follow load charts where applicable.
Shutdown Procedures:
Lower attachments, engage parking brake, and remove keys when equipment is unattended.
Communication & Accountability
Daily Logs:
Complete daily inspection forms and turn them in to the foreman/supervisor.
Reporting:
Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents immediately.
Responsibility:
Treat equipment as if you own it — operate it correctly, care for it, and return it in proper condition.
