Operator Expectations

Daily Responsibilities

  • Pre-Operation Inspection: Complete walk-around and documented inspection each morning before startup.

  • Fluids Check: Verify oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, fuel, and DEF (if applicable) levels daily.

  • Greasing: Grease all required points on the machine every day before or after use.

  • Cleanliness: Keep cab, windows, and mirrors clean. Remove trash at end of each shift.

Equipment Care

  • Proper Warm-Up/Cool-Down: Allow adequate warm-up before heavy operation and cool-down before shutdown.

  • Safe Refueling: Refuel properly, avoiding spills and contamination.

  • Regeneration Compliance: Allow machines to complete regeneration cycles as needed. Do not bypass, cancel, or override regen unless directed by a mechanic or supervisor.

  • Damage Reporting: Submit a Repair Request immediately if damage, leaks, or abnormal issues are found.

  • Abuse Prevention: No rough handling, overloading, or using equipment outside its designed purpose.

Safety Standards

  • Seatbelt Use: Always wear seatbelts when operating.

  • Spotters: Use a spotter when working in tight/confined areas or near ground personnel.

  • Load Awareness: Never exceed load limits; always follow load charts when applicable.

  • Shutdown Procedures: Lower all attachments, engage parking brake, and remove keys when machine is unattended.

Communication & Accountability

  • Daily Logs: Complete equipment inspection forms and submit to foreman/supervisor.

  • Tenna Tickets: Follow Tenna protocols for equipment check-in/check-out and usage logs.

  • Reporting: Immediately notify supervisor of unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents.

  • Responsibility: Treat the machine as if you own it – respect it, care for it, and return it in proper condition.
